In our previous sermon in the book of Micah we read of God speaking to His covenant people through His prophet Micah regarding their flagrant and continual transgression of the first tablet of the Ten Commandments – those precepts governing our relationship to God. In chapter two Micah addresses the leaders' vicious treatment of their poor neighbors – being transgressions of the second tablet of His Ten Commandments. Both Israel and Judah have degraded, and have strayed far from the Lord's righteous Law. In a way, Micah presents us nothing more than a consistent application of Moses' Law to the situation of His day . Nevertheless, the lessons in this book are for us, too!
