On the Bible study recently, we visited Genesis 24 where we saw the amazing connection between Eleazar meeting Rebekah at the well with a pitcher of water, and the mysterious man with the pitcher of water leading the disciples to the upper room for the Last Supper. Genesis is a huge book, and this was really just a tasty nugget for us to dive into and feast on. So with that in mind, tonight we start our multi-part series of gleaning more of these nuggets from Genesis as the Holy Spirit would lead us to uncover.
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1 (KJB)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we land on one of the most controversial topics in the Bible outside of eternal security and the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church, a little gem we call the Gap Theory. What is the Gap Theory? In a nutshell, it is the idea that before God created the planet Earth that we are sitting on right now, He created a previous Earth mentioned not mentioned in Genesis 1:1-2. So the question we will attempt to answer tonight is could it be possible that there was a whole other world where ours is now? Well, a better question than that is will there be another world coming that will take the place of this one? Join us tonight as we dive deep into the primordial soup to see if we can come up with a handful of nuggets from Genesis. (SPOILER ALERT: We sure can!)
