Part of the Christian experience is an appreciation, to a greater or lesser degree, of the blessings and mercies that flow from unity and peace with God through the only Savior Jesus Christ. This is common to all who are in Christ and was certainly true of King David. What is not common is the way in which David expressed his appreciation. In his contemplation and prayer in our text today, David not only expresses wonder and amazement about God's promises to him and his posterity, he also prays very boldly and asks for the LORD to fulfill what He has promised. We can and should learn a lot from David's response.
