In Matthew 16:13-28 we have three well known passages containing a saving revelation, a strong rebuke, and the sure return of the Son of Man. It is not what we say, what we do, or why we do it, that determines how we will stand before him on the day of his appearing, it is who Jesus is. In fact, it is our answer to the question, "who do you say that I am?" that determines what we do and why we do it. And so, I ask that you pray with me that the Father of glory would open the eyes of our hearts and reveal the Son of the living God to us as he did for Peter that day– that we would know him and love him.
