On the Bible study recently, we visited Genesis 24 where we saw the amazing connection between Eleazar meeting Rebekah at the well with a pitcher of water, and the mysterious man with the pitcher of water leading the disciples to the upper room for the Last Supper. Genesis is a huge book, and this was really just a tasty nugget for us to dive into and feast on. So with that in mind, tonight we start our multi-part series of gleaning more of these nuggets from Genesis as the Holy Spirit would lead us to uncover.
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1 (KJB)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we come face to face with Adam, Eve, the forbidden fruit and the Devil himself. Just what was the fruit that Adam and Eve were told by God not to partake of? Well, if you believe Hollywood, poets, artists and writers of novelty songs for the past hundreds of years, you would think it was an apple. In the Garden we see a forbidden tree, and apples grow on trees, right? Lots of other things grow on trees as well, and apples play no significant role in end times bible prophecy, but there is a fruit and a tree that follows you all the way from Genesis 3 to Revelation 19. Tonight we pay a visit to that tree, that fruit, and see what it has to do with altering the color of clothing.
