In the very act of his conversion Paul experienced the power of God and learned the sovereignty of God. "You are a chosen vessel," said the messenger of God to Paul (read Acts 9:15 and Acts 22:14).
For Paul, election was the heart of the Gospel of salvation in Christ the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Paul didn't learn this theology 40 years after he had made an Arminian "decision," but he learned it when Christ was revealed in him as Lord and Saviour. And he immediately submitted to the truth, for the heart of reveiving Christ or any truth of God's Word is hearty submission β and Paul never got over it!
