To this an imperative command Peter gave to the Saints scattered across the Roman colonies (I Pet. 1v1 c.f. II Pet. 3v1), desired of them to "supply" – v5; without withholding anything back, according to "the all things God's divine power has granted to us", pertaining to life and Godliness (v3 – 4). Ultimately, the Saints were to trust God's sovereignty, relying on the Holy Spirit for strength.
