In prayer, you do not seek to conform God's will (as revealed in His commandments) to yours, but rather to conform your will to His (1 John 5:14). Prayer is not about God doing your will, but you doing God's will. Anyone who prays, "Thy will be done", and yet refuses to submit his/her will and whole life under the lordship of Jesus Christ and His truth revealed in Scripture is simply a hypocrite (an actor). A true Christian knows the inward conflict of the flesh in doing the will of God, but a true Christian desires to do God's will and repents when he/she fails to do so while seeking God's forgiveness (Romans 7:19).
