We will walk by faith, not by sight. What does that really mean? We are going to consider our walk. You see, to walk by faith is the same thing as walking in Christ. Last week we remember that Apostle Paul was expressing his great burden for the church in Colossae. His burden, his great struggle was that he wanted the Colossians to see Jesus Christ as the treasure house for everything they needed to mature in the faith. Everything you need in order to mature and be more prepared for the challenges of this life and for the blessedness of eternity, everything, is found in Christ. And the key to that treasure house of Christ is reverence / sacred awe. Before verse 7,Paul is now giving an explanation of what walking in Christ means. He give us four phrases in verse 7. Rooted, built up, established, and abounding in thanksgiving. And what happens if this does not characterize your walk? Paul tells us in verse 8. Paul says you could be carried away captive to a false gospel. So if you are not walking in Christ, you are liable to great spiritual harm. Your soul could be put in grave danger. So how do you know if you are buying into a false gospel? Paul answers this question in verses 9 - 15. Paul is saying that if any one preaches any other Jesus than the whole Jesus that they have embraced, they are going to harm and possibly destroy you, because they will lead you away from Him.
