Great Sermon to show patience and not your temper! Unofficial brief ¶ James is concerned about the behavior of the Jewish-Christian diaspora. A believer looks at trials through a difference lens than the unbeliever. We see trials to shape and mold us to His desire for us to achieve maturity in Christ. ¶ We are encouraged to come to God for wisdom no matter the situation. Trials are brought into our lives so we would grow--not to sin. ¶ James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. 18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. ¶ The greatest gift He's given us--our salvation. ¶ James is concerned how the Jewish-Christians behave since they are disliked because they are both Christian and Jews. We are to be quick to hear, but slow to speak and to get angry. We are to be patient.
