The question that I gave to you in the Morning Worship was this: How can we honor our godly fathers? And by extension, how can we honor not only our earthly fathers but our spiritual fathers as well? I said to you that Elisha was a good model for us to learn from, in this regard. 1st – By his determination to stick close to his spiritual father. And 2nd – By his determination to see what God was doing through Elijah, even in his final days. Now, this afternoon, I would like to ask 2 questions which will help us to better understand how to honor a spiritual father in the faith. 1st of all – What does it mean to obtain a double portion of your father's spirit. And 2nd – What will it mean to pick up the mantle that he will leave you? I pray that the Holy Spirit will now give us understanding in relation to these things which will help us to better serve our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
