Son, behold your mother 4) Abandonment ïƒ Matt. 27v46 & Mk 15v34: My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? 5) Distress ïƒ Jn 19v28: I thirst 6) Triumph ïƒ Jn 19v30: It is finished"; 'accomplished and completed') 7) Reunion ïƒ Luke 23:46: Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit. Principally; the 4th saying, concerns the cry of abandonment. The "Eerie Hour" introduced, stretches back to Christ' first appearance until His crucifixion: a) His desire to die and anticipated cup of God's wrath b) the disdain and mockery of men c) the deadly physical pain.
