Birds are mentioned frequently in the scriptures. From the time of their creation, on and through the Bible, until their last mentioning in the book of the Revelation. Revelation 18:2 We find them in the scripture sometimes in great numbers as in the wilderness in Numbers Chapter 11. Here, the children of Israel murmured with the mixed multitude about not having flesh to eat. Numbers 11:1-6. Their displeasure with only manna grieved the Lord so that he sent so many, and so much quail it caused them to stay up "all night" just to dress them. They ate so much it "Came out at their nostrils." Numbers 11: 18-20. Again, a great number of birds or fowls are found in the tree mentioned in Matthew 13:32. The Bible comes to an end with God showing how Babylon will have "Become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird."
