Peter has just urged his friends to sanctify Christ as Lord and to maintain a clear conscience, even when their godliness is met with opposition. That's a tall order: to do right, to get beat down, then get up and do right again! Peter understands. So the apostle immediately draws their attention to their Lord. Here is hope and strength: Jesus suffered, endured, and conquered. You can too! We considered the first half of this text a few Sunday's ago, tonight we'll conclude as we revisit "four events in Jesus' temporary suffering and ultimate victory:" i.) crucifixion; ii.) death; iii.) resurrection; iv.) ascension. Remember Jesus' suffering and His victory. Take hope and stand firm!
