The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave accomplished God's purpose of providing eternal life for those who believe in Him as Savior. But coming back to life was only one of the miracles associated with Christ's resurrection. The fact that God became a man through a virgin birth, and that he chose to be the lowest of men, was a miracle in itself. His physical suffering in life and in death was a miracle in that Jesus Christ exposed HImself to the curse of sin in the flesh and suffered the effects of sin in His body. The second miracle is that God died. Jesus Christ, the life-giver, the source of life Himself, gave up His life voluntarily and surrendered Himself to both physical and spiritual death. He endured the full weight of God's wrath on the cross and experienced for the first time ever being separated from fellowship with the Father as God turned His back on Him at His death. Upon dying, Jesus went to hell in our place, but not to suffer. His purpose was to conquer sin and death which is the third miracle Death was the last enemy of God left that kept us from having eternal hope. The fourth miracle was that Jesus was the only one who ever went to hell and returned from it, paving the way for believers to avoid hell and receive eternal life in heaven through Christ.
