The truth of the matter is– the life of every Christian believer is a life of waiting. From the moment Christ ascended into heaven, his followers have been eagerly waiting his return. But we do not wait in vain. Nor are we to wait with bored indifference. Instead, Peter stirs us up and encourages us to be "prepared for action" even as we wait and set our hope fully on the grace that has been promised to us in Christ. This is the living hope we have born afresh into and are called to both wait for, and hasten.
