This week our passage will be 1 Corinthians 15:12-28. The context in the letter is that they had written to Paul a series of questions that he begins answering back in chapter 7. The question that he appears to be dealing with here is if there is still a resurrection to come. Paul after declaring in the beginning of the chapter that Christ did indeed rose for the dead and that many people saw Him after he was risen including Paul. Starting in verse 12, Paul explains what the effect that has. How to reject the our bodily resurrection is to reject the saving work of Jesus Christ. To make everything that he preached a waste of time. That without the resurrection, those who believe in Jesus Christ are the most pitiable, but that is not the case. Indeed, Christ is risen. He is ruling. He is destroying all of His enemies. He is preparing to deliver the eternal kingdom to His Father so God may be all and all. We should make certain that we attach the same importance to the resurrection in our daily lives. For without the resurrection, we would be the most pitiable.
