A Habit of Hope 1 Thessalonians 1:3-5Faith fuels our lives, drives the big picture of our career: objectives, goals, and dreams. I want to encouraged you to look at your work life not in terms of what you will receive, but in terms of what you will accomplish. Love fuels the day-to-day drudgery of your work life. And hope fuels persistence. Hope gets you through the problems. Hope gets you through the failures. Hope gets you through those times when the results just aren't what you want them to be.What is hope? In the English language we use this word differently than it is used in the Bible. In English we use it to describe wishful thinking β sometimes futile thinking. If you take your faith to work β if you start doing your job driven by the big-picture of what you can accomplish, rather than driven by the little picture of what you get out of it β your boss will notice. If you take love to work β if you start doing job driven by love for work and love for the people you work with, serving them in a spirit of support β your boss will notice. And if you take your hope to work β if you do your job with a commitment to excellence, day-in and day-out through good times and bad β your boss will notice. Your co-workers will notice. Most importantly, God will notice. He will honor you and bless you.
