He Was Known... For what He Preached
(Isaiah 54:9)
The waters of Noah were the instrument of judgment, as the waters of baptism reminds us of the instrument of judgement that was placed upon Christ at the cross. He and the cross picture both the flood waters of God's judgement and the safety of His ark. The cross is the flood and Jesus is the ark... and the waters of baptism are the waters of judgment that remind us the wrath/waters that fell upon Christ in our stead. And in Him we overcome that judgement when we, by faith, enter into His death, and resurrected to new life in Him.
Here’s a little grace tip...
How do we know we’re being manipulated by the path, or our focus is fixed on the circumstances of life, and not looking to and leaning on the Path Giver, Himself? When we find ourselves repeatedly asking the Shepherd to “fix” the path rather than asking Him to “fix us” for the path.
We all find ourselves in this place, from time to time. We all drift toward the things we focus on. And when we cease asking Jesus to "FIX IT" and start asking Him to FIX US, FOR IT, whatever [it] is, we'll find the peace and confidence needed to embrace the path, and all that comes with [it], along with the steadfast strength to endure whatever [it] is, WHEN His wisdom finds room to work in our trusting heart.
It's usually me that needs fixin' not my circumstances or my path. And absolutely no one knows how to fix me, like my Shepherd, especially for what He’s chosen me for. I believe this is what James was speaking of when he said, “Count it all joy, my friends, when you’re facing various trials...”
