Clothed with the Lilies of Easter Colossians 3:1-17 SON-RISE service. We are here today to "Behold the Lamb." Every Sunday really is Easter. Every Sunday we celebrate the pivotal event of Christianity, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. "Up from the grave He arose with a mighty triumph o'er His foes. He arose a victor from the dark domain and He lives forever with His saints to reign. He arose, He arose, Hallelujah, Christ arose!"In the third chapter of Colossians the Apostle gives us a Easter Lilies of Christian Blessings which should adorn every believer's life. It is not enough to be saved from sin or merely to be sanctified. There are degrees far deeper than a clean heart. God wishes to beautify and polish and so refine the saints that they will be attractive. Is the old man dead in your life? If not, it will show up on you! ( Ancient Roman custom of forcing a murderer to wear the corpse of his victim.) Death ate into him and drained him of life. So it is with us. Who controls your life? The flesh? The world? The devil? Or, is it the Spirit of God? If the wrong one is in control, your life will be out of control and less than pleasing to the Lord. But, praise His Name! He allows for new beginnings! These garments of Easter Lilies are very popular in Heaven. If we want to be in style with the heavenly world, let us see to it that our souls are clothed with these Blessings.Above all these things, put on charity, which is Divine love.So Divine love is that pure, white mantle which is to be put on over all the other garments of Blessings, which is our full dress that prepares us to meet the heavenly Bridegroom.
