In this message, brother Jim Womack exhorts the the people of God to place faith not in prayer itself, but on the one to whom we pray. “There's a lot of talk about the power in prayer,” said Jim, “but not a whole lot of talk about the object of our faith. The object of the faith is the most critical.” Brother Jim laments that many times we express more confidence in the power of sin that keeps people enslaved that we lose sight of God's saving power. Our lack of confidence is evidenced when we fail to proclaim the gospel to those whom we deem utterly lost such as drug addicts.
Brother Jim demonstrates from Numbers 13 & 14 Israel's failure to trust God to do what he had promised to do. The spirit of the message is summed up with the same exhortation from Hebrews; “Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.” (Hebrews 3:12, ESV) |
