Today is the Lord's Day. We come together each Lord's Day to worship in song, to worship in prayer, to worship in hearing God's Word and to worship in publically confessing our faith. We enjoy the fellowship of like-minded believers and, if everything is done according to God's Word, we leave this place at peace with God and with our neighbor. But what about the rest of the week? Outside of these walls there is a world that doesn't agree with us and may even be antagonistic toward us and toward the Faith. How then, should we live on the other side of the wall? Our text tells us how. The Apostle Paul led an amazing life. He was a citizen of Rome and he received the best religious education of his day. He was headed to the top of the hierarchy in his world. Then, at the gates of Damascus, his life took a turn that no one would have predicted. Now, as the apostle to the Gentiles, he traveled all over the empire. He literally risked everything to fulfill his calling. Yet, it would be a mistake to think that he did this all on his own. There was a network of fellow workers who all helped in different ways. This has not changed. We all have a part to play in the great enterprise of working unto the Kingdom of God. What is your part? The phrase, "In God We Trust" has been around for a long time in our national history. It appeared on our coins in 1864, and it was adopted as our national motto in 1956.
