Why have you come to church this morning? There is only one correct answer. Jesus! But the fact is that many people have different reasons for coming to church. It's not too different from the situation in our text. Verse 12 mentions that a large crowd had come to Jerusalem. The crowd coming to the Passover could swell as much as 1000%. There might be 1 million people instead of 100,000. Within the crowd there were different groups as John explained, but he left out one group. Matthew makes notice of this group. We see that the city of Jerusalem was bothered or agitated by Jesus. I think it is important for us to realize that in the world where there are people seeking Jesus, there may be an even larger group of people who want nothing to do with Jesus. The Jesus you pursue is the Jesus you reflect.
