2 Corinthians chapters eight and nine are two of the most complete chapters on giving in the New Testament. The Macedonians had given a substantial give in spite of their poverty and affliction. Paul was bringing some of the Macedonians with him to Corinth and had bragged on the generosity of the Corinthian Christians. He wanted the Corinithians to prepare their gift ahead of time lest they be embarrassed in the presence of the sacrificial Macedonians. Paul reminded them of several important truths about giving during this admonition. We can apply these truths to our responsibility to give toward world missions. Faith Promise Missions is a powerful and proven way for each local Church and Christian to have a part in the Great Commission reaching the world with the Gospel.
