This verse clearly teaches us that a lack of biblical vision causes people to perish-- let go, cast off restraint, go out of control, or run wild. The danger lies in not seeing properly. We know the god of this world has blinded the eyes of the unbeliever (2 Cor. 4:4). He does not want the unbeliever to see reality at all, but he also works to cause the child of God to lose focus as well. There is great joy in knowing the Lord and walking close to Him.
