The apostle James commends us to be “doers of the word, and not hearers only,” lest we be deceived (James 1:22). Christ advises that to hear the Word without obeying is as foolish as building a house upon an unstable foundation (Matthew 7:24-26). The Bible teaches that sanctification (being made righteous) and justification (being declared righteous) are inseparable. In the following sermon, Christopher Love shows what is meant by faithful hearing and keeping of the Word of God, why it is so essential to true saving faith, and the dangers of neglecting it. “But he said, ‘Yea rather, blessed are they which hear the word of God, and keep it.’” Luke 11:28
