Aim: To pray down God's Spirit to earth in power, in the grace of the gospel.
Exegesis: We are to yearn for God's reality in our church. Let us be honest with the Lord about our shaken (vv. 15-16), sinful (v. 17), and sorry (vv. 18-19) condition. We are to yearn for God's reality in our world, so that He is feared (vv. 1-2); showing that He is sovereign (v. 3); in order that He be loved (v. 4).
Key verses: 64:1-2 ''Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence—as fire burns brushwood, as fire causes water to boil—to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence!''
