Nothing seems to be regarded as holy anymore. The difference between the holy and the profane is as important as north and south in finding our way through this sinful world. When nothing is sacred all is lost in one generation. Things are holy because they are associated or attached to God. If we love God we will regard whatever is associated with Him as holy. It is sort of like the way we cherish things that are attached to a dear loved one that has gone on. To regard something as holy is not idolatry, but reverence and love toward God.
