Jesus gave me Grace and Forgiveness. John 8:1-11Christ reveals Himself to be the Light of life. Man is seen gripped by sin illustrated by the woman taken in adultery.Man is pictured as being critical, condemnatory, self-righteous, and adulterous—every single person sinful. You and I must not misinterpret this event to mean that Jesus was "easy on sin" or that He contradicted the Law. For Jesus to forgive this woman meant that He had to one day die for her sins. Forgiveness is free but it is not cheap. Furthermore, Jesus perfectly fulfilled the Law so that no one could justly accuse Him of opposing its teachings or weakening its power. When we sin, we Break God's law and deserve punishment. We're each guilty of sinning against God. Jesus responds to our sin with Grace and forgiveness. We have an accuser in our lives as well. His name is Satan. The great news for us is that, when we belong to Christ, we have an Advocate—Jesus— who stands in our defense 1 John 2.
