"Irresistible Grace" is a designation of a doctrine of salvation that finds its roots in the Synod of Dort. While some have avoided the term for fear of misunderstanding, from the perspective of a biblical worldview, the designation is very appropriate. When one understands that the grace of salvation begins with a sovereign act of resurrection, the newly regenerated hear to voice of Christ and are drawn to HIm like a moth to a flame. A person would have to be out of his mind to reject the call of Christ to leave the tomb of this world and follow the giver of life. And that's precisely what Scripture says about the unregenerate; they need to come to their senses. Our glorious Lord and Savior is indeed, irresistible.
