As we said last time it is not enough to accept Jesus for who you think he is, you must come to Jesus on his own terms. You must understand that he is none other than God our Savior. And for Jesus to be the Redeemer, he must be the unique God that has power over all things. Now we seen passage after passage that has dealt with his power over sin His power over the demons and his power over sickness and disease. But now we're going to see a power that causes me to tremble. The power that we're talking about is a power that only God possesses. The disciples were with Jesus everyday and they see all His miracles and all of his power and they see him feeding of thousands of people. They see him performing miracle after miracle and yet they don't understand who he is. But on this day he does something that nobody can do. He alters the course of nature and commands it's very activity to change by the Council of his command and his will. That is the moment that you realize that you're standing in front of the God that created you, that owns you, and that commands you to obey.
That is the moment you stand in front of a God that you know, you must give an account to and that is the most terrifying thing that all men must face. But for those who believe, it is the most glorious truth imaginable. The safest place that they could be was in that Boat with Jesus, yet they did not know or understand who He truly was so their faith had to be tested and tried so that they could find out who He is. Jesus said "Where is your faith" This was a rebuke of correction, in Love, meant to compel them to understand and see Christ for who He truly is.
