In I Cor. 10:11 & 12, the Apostle Paul reminds the church that the experiences of God's people in the Old Testament are for us to learn and be admonished by. "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." In Num. 11:4 – 6, in the midst of glorious redemption from bondage, the people chafed against the hard road before them and even craved to go back to Egypt. "And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: but now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes." They did not apply the glories of their redemption to their attitudes and actions and paid a heavy price. Are you heeding that example?
