Winning Souls Proverbs 11:30 Proverbs in chapter 11 continues to define the contrast between righteousness and lawlessness. God, in His wonderful grace, uses every opportunity to warn the young and inexperienced of the dangers and sorrows of rebelling against His Word. He puts before them the physical and spiritual blessings to be found in obedience to wisdom and truth. Solomon turned his attention to the values of life and explored a variety of issues of everyday interest. He kept his eyes open as he journeyed through life. We will benefit from paying attention to his astute observations. Solomon here pointed the way to eternal bliss: "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise" Proverbs 11:30. There is no joy in all the world like the joy of leading someone to Christ and knowing that an eternity of bliss will be that person's portion. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life to those who perish. Refreshment and gladness are produced so that those who weaken may enter into blessing. So he who is wise will win souls. Wisdom consists not in the knowledge of Scripture, precious as that is, but in the ability to live in the power of the Word. True wisdom is being able to so minister to men, women, and children that they will be won for Christ and His truth. My prayers are that you will lead many souls to the Lord.(Old tape)
