Peter and John are in court. By a specific gift of the Spirit, Peter has no need to prepare a speech. He refers to his Lord as "Jesus of Nazareth", showing his human nature, born of a woman and into the unimpressive surroundings of a nondescript village. The lack of any obvious glory goes some way to explain why the Jews did not have any idea just who Jesus was. Nevertheless, they are still culpable for his murder, and Peter once again accuses them of such. Yet this rejected stone was to become the most important one in the structure of the glorious building which is the church of God. And this truth leads Peter to his conclusion: that Jesus is the only way of salvation.
