Each believer's testimony and calling is unique in many ways. There is one thing that is common to every individual's calling and that is; we must pass through many tribulations. The evidence that we are genuine Christians is a deep seated understanding that God has called us to go through many trials and tribulations. We start by coming to the cross and when we are filled with the Holy Spirit of Jesus He leads us to take up that cross and die daily to everything in this world. The beginning of the Christian life is an absolute surrender to the purpose of God in our lives. This starts with putting away everything that is contrary to His word. Further we must surrender every desire and aspiration to His calling for us. If we will live like this then we will know His presence in the fire and deep waters that we will be called to walk through.
