Today from the text I want to point out a couple of significant ways that Abraham remained faithful to the end and we will also consider how you and I can remain faithful to God. 1) Abraham demonstrates faith by purchasing a place in the land of promise - Gen 23 2) Abraham demonstrates faith by refusing to allow Isaac to marry a Canaanite or leave - Gen 24 3) God is faithful to His Covenant by providing a wife for Isaac - Gen 24 Jesus was faithful to the end. He bore every last sin of His people, He drank every last drop of the Father's wrath! Because of His faithfulness, three days after His death, the Father raised Jesus to life again proving His victory over sin and death. So whoever turns from their sins and trusts in Jesus death and resurrection as payment for their sins is given eternal life.
Jesus' work of redemption is finished, but He continues to minister to His own. The Bible teaches that Jesus is a faithful high priest. His death and resurrection provides access for us to approach God in prayer. As our priest, He faithfully prays for us! He is at the Father's right hand faithfully interceding for His people.
As followers of Christ, we too are called to faithfulness. Hebrews 10:19-24 In this passage, we are exhorted to do three things to help us stay faithful to the end. 1) Keep coming to God in Prayer - v22 2) Keep believing the truths about Christ – v23 3) Stay active with your church! – v24-25 May God by His Spirit help us keep coming to Him in prayer, keep believing the truths about Jesus, and stay active with the church!
In the end, when we stand before God, may all of us hear – “Well done, my good and faithful servant!†|
