Faye Marie Wilburn, Phillips, Rhodes, was born in Marlow Oklahoma April 5, 1925 To Charles Wilburn and Dottie Stewart. Faye was of Native American ancestry Her Father Charlie was Cherokee, Her mother Dottie was Chickasaw from the legendary Paul Family of Pauls Valley Oklahoma, Ojibwa, and Santee Dakotah from Minnesota. Her Great grandfather was Smith Paul a Scottsman who married into the Chickasaw tribe. Faye moved to California from Oklahoma and went to Kern County High School. In her senior year Faye married James (Junior) Phillips.Junior went to WWII and served with Patton in the European Theater. When he came home with battle fatigue PTSD he was never able to normally function in society again and was killed in 1949. During their marriage James (Jimmy) Phillips January 1947 was born and in January 1949 Margaret was born just 6 weeks before Junior Phillips was killed. Faye for short periods was married to Jim Greenlee, (Red) Reuben Brown, and Dale Remling. Faye finally found and long time mate with (Dusty) Wilfred Rhodes and in 1965 they were married. Dusty had 5 children Frank, Patsy, Carl ,Gregory, and Susie Rhodes. Faye helped raise all but Frank. Faye was known as the Chicken Lady for at least 40 years. She had a hatchery and hatched eggs for hundreds of people. She and Dusty would take their chickens to the Chicken shows and compete in fairs and poultry shows all over California. Faye & Dusty owned & operated Dusty’s RV & Travel trailers for several years. Dusty, after 31 years of marriage with Faye, passed from this life in 1996. In December 1996 Faye KF6HUI became a ham operator. In 1999 Faye met Joe Trevizo at the salad bar at the Sizzler restaurant.
