It is nothing short of amazing what God can do in and through a soul who is saved and knows it. The museum clerk in nearby Deerfield, Massachusetts didn't know who D.L. Moody was. So she asked an older colleague. He gave us directions to where he thought his home was, although you could tell he really didn't know who D.L. Moody was. When we arrived in Northfield, we asked a jogger where the historic home was. She didn't know. It turns out we were on Moody Street and his home was right across from us! What a difference 100 years makes. No less than a hundred million people heard the gospel from the lips of D.L. Moody. He died in 1899. Before TV, radio and computers. Moody was the man who God inspired through the words spoken to him by Mr. Henry Varley, another well-known evangelist, as they sat together on a seat in a public park in Dublin. The words were: "The world has yet to see what God will do with and for and through and in and by the man who is fully consecrated to Him." As we approached the simple gravestones on the bluff, the words of the Scripture were clear "the man who does the will of God abides forever." He lives forever in heaven with God, not in the world. That is the best place to be. Even now, "the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him." (2 Chronicles 16:9) Amen!
