In the last half of verse 2 and the start of verse 3 the witer of Hebrews begins to give reasons why Jesus is the "heir of all things". First, Jesus is God the creator. It was "through" the Son by which the Father made the world. Therefore, as creator, He is by right the king of the world. Second, Jesus not only created the world but the writer says that Jesus is the "radiance of the glory of God." But Christ isn't the mere reflected glory of God, but He is the very glory of God in fullness and intensity.
