As we study the miraculous working of the Holy Ghost in the believer, we must also observe His work in the incarnate Son of God.
Jesus was conceived miraculously by the Holy Ghost in the virgin Mary, whereby He bore the name of Jesus, that He would save His people from their sin. It was because He was conceived in this manner that He is God in the flesh, living with men as the God-man!
Just as the Holy Ghost brought life to the body of Christ, so too He brings life to poor dead sinners at the Regeneration. We are not deity, but we are made a temple to deity by the Spirit.
At His baptism, the Holy Ghost publicly identified Christ as the Son of God and God's Lamb for sinners. So too the Spirit marks believers as sons of God through faith in Jesus.
The Holy Ghost was given to Christ without measure, and guided Him and empowered Him to do His Father's work. He annointed Jesus to proclaim the Gospel and save sinners.
The Holy Ghost raised up Jesus from the grave, and was legally and morally entitled to do so because Christ's sacrifice put away our sin and the judgment of death. So too the Spirit will raise up our mortal bodies one day!
The Holy Ghost empowered the Lord Jesus from His conception through to His resurrection from the grave. No wonder Christ so urged the importance of His going away so that the Holy Ghost might come down and work upon and through His people with that same power!
That same Holy Ghost that proclaimed Christ as the Lamb had done so long before, when He preached the sacrifice of Jesus to the prophets, that the Savior would be slain for us as a lamb led to the slaughter.
By the Holy Ghost, Jesus gave His life at Calvary for us!
