The Pressure of Temptation_03 James 1:13-18 God won't tempt me, but He will provide a way to resist temptation.Temptation is a reality for all of us. Even Jesus was tempted. We can't avoid it, but we don't have to give into it. We often feel like temptation is irresistible, or we blame God because "He made me this way, and I can't help but give in." We need to learn that just the opposite is true: God does not tempt us with what is bad, but He provides us what is good, and those good things can help us stand against temptation.Trials come to all believers. We can allow the trials to test our faith and thereby grow in faith, or we can turn them into temptations in which we respond inappropriately and in an ungodly way. Furthermore, we can be confronted with situations spawned by our own evil desires that lead us to sin against God and be out of fellow- ship with Him. How we respond is our internal choice; nothing forces us to behave the way we do. Certainly not God. His desire is that we receive the good things He has for His children. He further desires that His children live dedicated lives to Him and act as examples to others who hear the gospel proclamation.
