Isaiah 9:6 "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; ………. and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." We will focus on the second name, Mighty God. No doubt when we think of one who is mighty we think of power, but we should not confuse the power or might of God with the so called power of the world. What the power of God does mean is that he has a plan and purpose that will be fulfilled. As the prophet proclaims hope for Israel he looks forward to the birth of Jesus our Saviour, the Mighty God who is our hope.
