In the new heavens and the new earth there is a huge city called the heavenly Jerusalem which is the dwelling place of the bride of Christ. It is the place our Lord has prepared for His own bride and will reflect His glory. As we look to Him to fulfill His promise we are eagerly awaiting His imminent return. The great beauty of the city itself is nothing in comparison to the fact that God Himself will dwell among His people. The believers who have taken of the water of life are truly those who have overcome by the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Here we turn our attention back to the place the our Lord has provided for His own, the holy city, Jerusalem. This Holy City will be on a high mountain in the new earth. It will be encompassed by a great and high wall that is 216 feet high. Here we look at the twelve gates that are inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. Here we look at the eastern gates which are mentioned first. The eastern gate is often associated with the Lord Jesus Christ and that is what we look at in this study. Jesus Christ is the Sun Who will rise in the eastern sky and bring judgment to the lost and great joy to those who are His.
