Here we find that Mary is expressing her greatest of joys to her cousin Elizabeth; that she will be the mother of our Lord. These things have been written down for us so that we would read them and ponder them, and think of our Savior in this same way of greatness that Mary did. If you do think deeply about these things, it will be the means of your cultivating a life of praise and obedience to your great God and Savior. It will require that you actually perceive what He has done for you in particular. Mary in these verses of her Magnificat is telling us what the Lord had done for her.
