Satan is the great pretender. In our text here we see that he is "as a roaring lion" the word "as" could also be translated like because in our English language it is what is known as a simile. In other words Satan is pretending to be the same kind of lion that our Lord is described as. Keeping that in mind and the fact that our Bible likens the Holy Spirit to the wind we can easily see how the Devil with all his roaring is trying to show off his power like the Holy Spirit. He, however, is not here to help but rather to destroy our windmill faith.
