In Luke 10, we are told about a time when Jesus visits in the house of Mary and Martha. Martha is described as "distracted with much serving," while Mary sits at the feet of Jesus. Martha eventually complains to Jesus that Mary is doing nothing to help her, and Jesus responds that Mary has actually chosen the better thing, or that "one needful thing." Our lives often resemble Martha's activity as well as her attitude about what everyone else ISN'T doing. Our problem is not that we are serving too much, but that we do not take the time to "sit at the feet of Jesus" more often so that we may grow closer to our Savior.
