This morning, we are going to fast forward over a thousand years in Biblical History to another promise in Scripture. The Redeemer, Messiah, Lamb of God, and Promised Son would be a great King! In America, we are removed from the Crown of England, but our ancestors understood the reign of Majesty, Your Highness, or His Grace. The Sire or Lord had all power and authority to carry out the purposes of his heart in his kingdom. The King had great authority. With this said, we will enter into an intimate moment in the life of David when God gave Him the promise of an eternal king and kingdom. God had promised Adam, Abraham, and David that One would come into the world to fulfill all the promises of God. Let us turn to 2 Samuel 7 and meditate on the title, “The Eternal King: Seeing Christ in David’s Son Solomon or The Heir of the Throne of David: Seeing Christ in Solomon.” We will consider the following 1)David Desired to Do Something For God 2) God Desired to Do Something for David 3) The King’s Son and Eternal Throne. |
