In the Matthew 2:1-12 story of the visit of the Magi, we see some forgotten facts (1)about the Child--not a baby, not in a manger, (2)about the Magi--possibly not three, not kings, (3)about the star--not astrology, not a comet, not a super nova, not a planetary conjunction, and (4)about Herod--he was troubled, and all Jerusalem was troubled with him. We also see some forgotten applications: wisdom is acting, not just knowing; wisdom is giving, not just getting; and wisdom is following, not just feelings. |
