In these few verses, we see God's superintendence of Christ's whole messianic work. It says that God commended Jesus through signs and wonders. It goes on to say how Jesus of Nazareth was delivered up to death. The Bible record tells us that Jews and Gentiles were the cause of his death. Some would say Judas, even. Yet God was ultimately behind it all. His over-arching sovereign will is the basis on which he governs all things. His predestined salvation may sometimes be packaged in the form of a "window of opportunity", but this is to make it clearer to the sinner. The truth behind it is that God ordains all things. Finally, we see that God raises Jesus from the dead. The believer can take comfort knowing that not only will God raise them from the dead, but that their whole lives in the meantime are governed with the same care with which he loved his Son.
