Today we are starting our last section before we move into the Christmas season. We have been looking at Paul’s letter to Timothy as he encourages Timothy to stay in the word. The good minister will instruct and preach from the word and the word will give nourishment and establish a believer in sound doctrine. He will grow in his knowledge and understanding of God and salvation. This will give him a growing faith and fruit in his life. It was opposed by old wives tales. Things that might have the appearance of worldly wisdom, but don’t take God into account. Paul continues with one of the most discussed and misused passages in this book.
